Make My Mark
“The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.” Jack London said that, and it rings true for me. Now more than ever.
My emergency surgery 3 months ago combined with the current COVID-19 crisis has done 2 things: It has made me more determined than ever to use my time, not fritter it away in meaningless endeavors but to make my mark—literally and figuratively. The second thing it’s done is set me off on a series of paintings about my inner self-my physical body and my mind. The latest is called “Telling My Fortune,” I think I need to sit and look at it a little more; not sure it’s done yet.
How do you intend to use your time?
